Back at Dunsmoor for the third time, and it never fails to surprise. Start with the baby albacore, pickled mussels, and chicken liver—absolute musts. The tomato caesar salad with bottarga is pure genius. Pork chop is smoky, tender perfection, but the quail steals the show, every bite is unforgettable. Wish it was on the menu every time.

Dunsmoor is a truly spectacular restaurant. Since my first dining experience, I have been back several times - each experience as equally memorable as the previous. The space is warm and rustic. The service is friendly and approachable. The food is astonishing. The staples that you should skip are the baby albacore tuna, the dressed lettuces, the cornbread (best you’ll have anywhere) and the highlight - the green chile stew fresh tortillas. I dream of the cornbread and the green chile stew. In fact, I just made another reservation while writing this. You won’t have a bad experience. While they are wine only, you can go to The Grant on the opposite corner and have cocktails before or after. Dunsmoor is special.

Dinner at Dunsmoor : My wife and I drove 1.5 hours round trip for the cornbread…and it was totally worth it! The art deco building invites people inside to the cozy rustic atmosphere adorned with long wooden tables and candlelight. The hearth roars with flames visible from the main dining area. We ordered the Wood Roasted Belon Oyster with Bottarga butter, bread crumb, chive, and lemon. Big enough that my wife and I shared the one . Next up was Aunt Emmy’s Pork and Green Chili Stew with cheddar and flour tortillas. The pork was soft and tasty, the stew was perfect for a cold night. The coup de grâce was Edna’s Sourmilk Cornbread with white cheddar, hatch chile, cultured butter, and honey. Crust was crispy, inside was warm, soft and yummy. The honey was a nice touch. The hatch chiles brought me back to ABQ! Worth a trip for the cornbread alone but definitely worth your time to check this place out.

Very cute spot visually, but a bit too loud for our liking, it’s definitely not the best choice for a first date if you’re hoping for intimate conversation. The food was good overall, though we had slightly higher expectations given the hype and pricing. We ordered five dishes. The bone marrow steak was perfectly cooked, but not quite worth the price. The albacore was enjoyable. The cornbread had a perfectly crispy outer crust( definitely get it). The stew was solid, and the tortillas were a true showstopper. The chicken pâté was yummy. The date pudding though? 11/10. Easily the best part of the meal. Would come back just for that.

Everything was so good. It really exceeded my expectations. Favorites and most unique dishes were the corn bread and smoked duck ham. Second tier of favorites were the mushroom crusted pork chop, braised cabbage, and Carolina shrimp rice. Prices can be up there... Between two people we spent about 270 before tip and round 310 after. Overall, would recommend to those that haven't tried but as someone who looked to try unique dishes I'd need to see new items before coming back but would love to see them.

Absolutely delicious! Every dish was something I felt like I could order again - all perfectly balanced and well executed. You must order the albacore and the main fish - both exceptional. Service was also lovely and attentive.

Overall good dinner but I personally thought it was quite heavy. Even the salad (too much cheese for my liking), and the cornbread too sweet. Lastly, the porkchop had too much fat :/ loved the its staff and atmosphere!

Dunsmoor Lives Up to the Hype — Cozy, Refined, and Delicious ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dunsmoor – near Eagle Rock, Los Angeles Dunsmoor has been on my list for a long time, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We made our reservation one month in advance, which I highly recommend. Street parking is available, and they also offer valet. Starters EDNA’S SOUR MILK CORNBREAD – One of the best cornbreads I’ve ever had. Moist, buttery, and melts in your mouth. A must-order. Chopped Chicken Liver – Rich, thick, and flavorful, served with sourdough toast. Tasty, but became a bit monotonous by the end despite the small portion. Warm Medjool Dates – Simple, nutty, and perfectly executed. Surprisingly my favorite dish of the night. Mains Cider-Glazed Bandera Quail (Small Portion) – Moist and beautifully roasted. While the apple sauce felt dry and almost bottled, the rosemary and black pepper were expertly infused into the meat. Superb overall. Mushroom-Crusted Pork Chop – Cooked perfectly, but our portion was too fatty for our taste. Sides Dressed Lettuces – Shockingly delicious. A simple salad done extremely right. Service & Ambiance Service was impeccable all night — plates changed seamlessly, drinks refilled promptly, and staff remained warm and attentive throughout. The restaurant is small and cozy, which I loved. It creates an intimate dining experience that feels thoughtful and relaxed. Overall A refined yet comforting dining experience with standout dishes and excellent service. Dunsmoor absolutely deserves its reputation.
